Intervention effectiveness score (%)

Interventions for the prevention of violence and injuries as indicated in the policy documents were categorized according to a list of interventions identified by WHO in its guidebook Preventing injuries and violence: A guide for Ministries of Health (2007) (http://whqlibdoc.who.int/publications/2007/9789241595254_eng.pdf) and ranked according to their effectiveness (see Table 2 page 24). The intervention effectiveness score is calculated as a percentage of the total number of interventions in the document that are effective or promising.
